This installation in Norwich showcases a highly efficient and durable residential energy system. By utilizing advanced N-Type Bi-Facial solar technology and a high-voltage battery storage solution, this home is now equipped to maximize self-consumption and protect against rising energy prices.
System Specifications
Solar Array: Jinko Tiger Neo Bi-Facial (440W)
We installed 10x Jinko Tiger Neo 440W Bi-Facial panels, creating a 4.4kWp solar array.
- Bi-Facial Gain: Unlike standard panels, these “Double Glass” modules can capture sunlight from both sides. This increases the total energy yield by utilizing light reflected from the roof surface.
- N-Type TOPCon Technology: These panels feature the latest N-Type cells, which offer superior performance in low-light conditions and have a significantly lower degradation rate over time compared to traditional panels.
- Robust Durability: The dual-glass construction provides enhanced mechanical strength and better resistance to harsh weather, backed by a 30-year linear power warranty.
Power Management: SolaX X1 Hybrid G4 Inverter
The heart of the system is the SolaX X1 Hybrid G4, a fourth-generation intelligent inverter designed for the modern UK home.
- EPS (Emergency Power Supply): This inverter is “backup-ready,” meaning it can provide power to essential circuits in the home during a grid outage.
- Fast Response & High Efficiency: With a low start-up voltage and up to 97% battery charging efficiency, it ensures almost every drop of solar energy is either used or stored.
- Smart Integration: Fully compatible with the SolaX Cloud app, allowing the homeowner to monitor generation and battery health in real-time from any location.
Energy Storage: SolaX Triple Power 5.8kWh Battery
For energy storage, we installed the SolaX Triple Power HV 5.8kWh (LFP) battery module.
- High-Voltage Performance: Using a high-voltage system allows for thinner cabling and higher round-trip efficiency when moving energy between the panels and the battery.
- Safe & Reliable Chemistry: Built with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology, these batteries are incredibly stable, offer over 6,000 charge cycles, and support 90-100% depth of discharge.
- Future-Proof: The modular design of the SolaX system means the Kirby family can easily add additional “slave” battery modules in the future if their energy needs grow.
The Result
By combining high-efficiency Bi-Facial panels with a rapid-response battery system, this Norwich home has significantly reduced its reliance on the national grid. The system is perfectly sized for a typical residential load, ensuring that the majority of the solar power generated during the day is available for use during the evening peaks.
- Total Solar Power: 4.4kWp
- Battery Capacity: 5.8kWh (Usable)
- Inverter Model: SolaX X1-Hybrid-G4
